Friends & Foes

Deutsch
In the course of the game you will interact with other players. This interaction may be of peaceful or hostile nature. In order to keep track of your relations to other players you may distinguish them into groups under Diplomacy → Friends & Foes: Friends and Foes.
It is also possible to add players as contacts, either to keep contact without granting further rights, or to have fine-grained control over their permissions and restrictions. [MECH:Contacts]
Note that while these categories can contain real ingame friends and real ingame foes of yours, they may be used just as auxiliary tools to grant or prohibit certain rights to other players.

Placing a player on your friends list - from now on referred to as "friend" - will have the following effects:
  • You may exclude attacking friends in your ambush settings. [MECH:Raiding & Ambush]

  • You may let friends pass through your military outposts. [MECH:Special Buildings]

  • Friends are able to hire squads in your starbase. [MECH:Starbase Combat]

  • Friends are always protected while staying on your starbase regardless of their faction reputation. [REF:Reputation]

  • Your friend-listing may have an effect on the chance of the individual defecting to your faction. [MECH:Factions]

  • Friends appear with a green box (or if an alliance mate, in green color) on the message screen. If online, the box will be lit up.

Placing a player on your foes list - from now on referred to as "foe" - will have the following effects:
  • You may include attacking foes in your ambush settings. [MECH:Raiding & Ambush]

  • You may block foes at your military outposts. [MECH:Special Buildings]

  • Foes are not able to use the services offered in your buildings or starbase, including docking.

  • Foes have no protection while staying on your starbase regardless of their faction reputation. [REF:Reputation]

  • Foes trigger timebombs you place. [MECH:Advanced Skill Activations]

  • Your foe-listing may lead to outlawing the individual in your faction. [MECH:Factions]

  • Foes appear with a red box on the message screen. If online, the box will be lit up.

By switching to your Contacts tab you are able to add/remove single permissions and restrictions. [MECH:Contacts]

Note that successful hackers may acquire insight into your friends and foes lists. [MECH:Hacking & Firewalls]

Alliances & Factions

By expanding the alliances and factions headers in the Friends & Foes screen you can edit two further friend and foe lists. They allow you to add whole alliances and factions to your friend/foe list. Members of added alliances and factions are treated as if they had been set as friend or foe manually. However, they are not notified of this placement on your friend/foe list and they do not appear on your messages screen.

Priorities for these three lists are: Players > Alliances > Factions
